The Purpose
Create a training course for all Arab Rec Center Employees to teach them how to set up and operate the newly purchased control panel. Stakeholders want a 5-10 minute eLearning module with assessment.
The Goal
The goal is for the Arab Rec Center employees to be able to:
- set up the control panel before a new game starts
- operate the control panel by using buttons that control the game clock and horn
- Add and subtract points for both the home and away teams on the control panel
The Process
I consulted with the Rec Center Human Resources Department and the Rec Center Supervisor and determined that a course in Rise 360 would be the most effective in training their employees.
ARC recently purchased a new control panel to use during basketball season. Before the start of the season, the client wanted all employees to be able to operate the basic features of the new control panel.
I broke down the goals of the client into two main sections which are the clock and keeping score. The client wanted emphasis on how to set up both and how to fix mistakes made by the employees.
I created an assessment at the end of the eLearning course to assess what the employees had learned from the course and ensure they were ready to use the new control panel. This training was designed so that employees could go back and access the training for further learning at their will.
The Result
The clients were excited that this training set their employees up for success in this basketball season. Employees were given the training prior to the seasons start and the client was happy to report that the employees were able to use the new control panel with ease and confidence.
Takeaways
I learned a lot about the basics of Rise 360 and the design process of ID. This was the second of two projects that I did for the Arab Rec Center and I feel that both projects go well together and can easily be used together as new hire trainings for the ARC.
Similarly to the first project, if I were to do this project again, I would like to add more interactive parts and videos. Overall, I feel that this project was successful and served the purpose that was need for the ARC employees.
